Dublin Airport’s Terminal 1 was built in 1972 as an addition to the original 1940 building, which still forms the centrepiece of the airport today. Following the opening of Terminal 2 in 2010, Terminal 1 is now used exclusively by Ryanair. Originally designed to handle 5 million passengers annually, the building was substantially refurbished for its new role as Ryanair’s primary hub.

King's Cross Station

Advanced supplied intelligent panels for fire detection and smoke damper control as part of the the King’s Cross/ St. Pancras Underground Station redevelopment. Phase 1 included construction of a new Western Ticket Hall located in front of St. Pancras station and the expansion of the current Tube Ticket Hall. Phase 2 also used Advanced’s intelligent control panels, involving the construction of a new Northern Ticket Hall located to the west of King’s Cross station.

More commonly known as the Tube to everyday commuters, the London Underground is a rapid transit system serving the Greater London and some surrounding areas. Its routes serve 270 stations on 11 lines, with over 250 miles of track. The network incorporates part of the world’s first underground railway – The Metropolitan Railway. Integrated under public ownership in 1933, the Tube now serves 3.66 million passengers daily. A multi-billion ongoing improvement plan is now underway to bring the network up to modern standards and prepare for further growth in London’s population.

Opened in 1987, the airport, situated at the former Royal Docks in Newham, is the only airport to be located within the M25. Servicing over 3.6 million passengers annually, the airport has ten operating airlines that travel to over 45 destinations.

Tyne Tunnels

Tyne & Wear, UK
The first Tyne Tunnel was completed in 1967 and the second in 2011, after which the 1967 tunnel was comprehensively refurbished to include a new evacuation tunnel and the latest safety standards. Today, the twin tunnels provide a vital transport link, carrying the A19 trunk road under the Tyne River in North East England. Around 36,000 vehicles use the twin tunnels every day, a figure which is expected to rise to 43,000 by 2021.

East Midlands Airport

East Midlands, UK
Located at Castle Donington in North West Leicestershire, East Midlands Airport mainly services the counties of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and South Yorkshire. The Airport was originally an RAF Station that was decommissioned in 1946, but after being bought in 1964 it opened for passengers the following year.

Waterloo Station

One of the busiest passenger terminals in Europe and the UK’s biggest terminus, Waterloo Station is a central London mainline and underground station in the London Borough of Lambeth. Located near the South Bank of the River Thames, the current station was built between 1901 and 1922 with 19 platforms serving the surrounding areas of London, Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire and South West England. It is also served by the Bakerloo, Northern, Jubilee and Waterloo and City London Underground lines and, until 2007, was home to continental Eurostar services.

Tyne & Wear Metro

The Tyne and Wear Metro, also locally known as the Metro, is a rapid transit system in North East England, serving Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, South Tyneside, North Tyneside and Sunderland in the Tyne and Wear region. The Metro is also described as Britain's first modern light rail system. It can be considered a hybrid system, displaying elements of light rail, heavy underground metro, and longer-distance, higher speed suburban and interurban railway systems.
It opened in 1980 and provides 40 million public journeys each year on its network of 74.5 kilometres (46.3 mi). It is the second largest of the three metro systems in the United Kingdom, after the London Underground; the other being Glasgow Subway.
