BS 8629:2019 Evacuation Alert Control & Indicating Equipment (EACIE)

Coming soon, our new EACIE will give you peace of mind that you’re meeting all BS 8629:2019 evacuation alert panel recommendations.

These panels, independent of fire detection systems, are now recommended in all new blocks of flats in Britain with a storey located at a height of more than 18 metres. They must be designed to support any evacuation strategy chosen by the fire and rescue service.

We are custom building our evacuation alert panels to reflect each individual building’s evacuation zones.

All panel components will be the same a those used in our industry-leading MxPro 5 range, so you can be confident they’ve been rigorously tested to EN54 Parts 2 and 4.

We'll be designing each panel to comply with all the appearance, functionality and operational recommendations of BS 8629:19, so you can be safe in the knowledge you’re protecting people and property with robust and proven technology.

Advanced EACIE panels will feature manual controls that are easy for fire and rescue service personnel to operate. Toggle switches and LED indication will make viewing evacuation zone status and implementing evacuation strategies quick, simple and straightforward.

Each Advanced EACIE panel will be housed in its own security-rated enclosure with patented BS EN 1303-compliant lock and key mechanism for exclusive access by the fire and rescue service - ensuring minimal risk of unauthorised use.

The EACIE will work equally well with hard-wired, radio and/or hybrid systems. Commissioning and servicing will be quick and easy using our virtual PC tool.

Other key features of the EACIE that will bring you Advanced performance, quality and ease of use include:

  • Slide-in labels for clear, easy naming of evacuation zones to avoid confusion

  • 1 to 4 loop formats supporting 500 mA per loop for total flexibility

  • Compatibility with Apollo, Argus, Hochiki and Nittan protocols giving you both wired and wireless options for maximum versatility

  • Built-in battery back-up options – 72-hour, plus 30 minutes in alarm, or (where an on-site generator is present) 24-hour plus 30 minutes in alarm.

Our LifeLine panel can be used with the EACIE to ensure you meet the BS 8629 recommendations to provide additional evacuation alert devices for the hard of hearing.

You can also use our Service Tool with the EACIE to help you create customised service reports so you can be sure you’re compliant with stipulated service and maintenance schedules.
